So I was right - some of you readers ARE members of the APWA! I can't believe this, no wonder why some of the details we have received have felt like we've been on a wild goose chase. Listen, you don't know what you've done to our family and you don't know what you're doing with/to Buddy. Buddy's a member of our family, we love him. Please I beg of you - stop doing this to him and please bring him back to us.

2 Buddy sightings around the world?

Derek and Eggnog are profound with their connections to people who know where Buddy is or have seen Buddy. I am curious if these two individuals may be members of the APWA? If so, I wonder if they've got a logo or something. I'll have to research a bit more about these two people as I'm starting to get a little nervous about them.

Derek mentioned that he had some friends playing werewolf over the weekend get scared because they heard howling. We cannot verify that this was Buddy, nor can we dispute the likelihood of it being Buddy. I'm not exactly certain where his friends were, but if Eggnog's picture is any indication - Buddy is somewhere in Paris? I really hope he doesn't find his way to stone henge. I'll have to schedule a flight there myself to see if I can spot him, just in case this APWA group is devious like that.

Here is a notable occurance, maybe a sign of Buddy?

I was out of town this weekend, but I talked to my roommate on the phone a couple of times today. He told me that he and a few of our friends were all hanging out last night with nothing to do, so he suggested they play 'werewolf'. We usually play a game called 'mafia', which is the same as werewolf, just with different names for everything. I had told him about the werewolf variation yesterday and he thought it was pretty cool, so they tried it out last night. He told me they got through a couple of rounds before they all started noticing something strange... Every time they got to the part where the moderator announces "And darkness came, the Werewolves awaken..." they suddenly would hear a long inhuman howl coming from outside. My roommate said it happened 3 times, each time sounding progressively closer. After the third time, he said, they got too freaked out to play and they quit, spending the rest of the night watching TV with all of the lights in the apartment on. I laughed and told him about Buddy, and this eased his memories a little. We're planning to play again sometime this week and keep a better eye out for the poor lost puppy.

As luck would have it, my friend in Australia had a connecting flight in Paris during his return home and decided to stop at the Eiffel tower, and lo and behold Buddy sneaked into yet another one of his pictures! And not only that but he's running around with a Mrs. Buddy this time as well. I guess there was more than one werewolf-dog-thing stowed away on that Kangaroo shipment.

I find this to be an interesting revelation and my curiosity as to whether or not this is actually Buddy is growing. I'm not sure who the kid is in the picture, my assumption - the huttese geek, but I could be wrong and it could be one of the APWA people (if they're not one in the same).

Buddy, listen... we really really miss you and we want you back here. Please don't fall for any of their shenanigans!

Did any of you pay tribute this weekend?

Did any of you pay tribute to Joe Schmoe this weekend by playing his favorite game? If you did and you've got pictures or video send them my way. We haven't gotten any more tips on Buddy's location this weekend. APWA must be doing a really good job of keeping him hidden.

Our recovery team reported back that there appeared to be a mass shipment of kangaroos departing from Sidney, Australia towards Europe. We're asking people to be on the lookout for a large mass of kangaroos, but more importantly we believe Buddy may be with them. The APWA appears quite devious as today I woke up with a weird set of circles in my front yard, looked like crop circles but on a smaller scale.

We're all desperate to at least hear from Buddy. This is important to us, not so much for our art project as it is to know that Buddy's ok and going to be ok. I'll update again tomorrow I hope.

A freak accident

We have not received any pictures or any further leads on Buddy's location (other than some freak sending in Star Wars encryptions). Our Australian team has been unable to track him. We, unfortunately, lost one of our team members in a freak accident. Joe Schmoe was a great guy, 27 year old ex-delta force fella, who has been working with us for some time now. Joe was following some of the leads we received yesterday and was mauled by a pack of kangaroos. The evil marsupials kicked him to death... we can't let Joe's memory go to waste though, tonight we plan on celebrating Joe by playing Joe and Buddy's favorite game.

Joe taught it to Buddy and a few of us working on the art project, Buddy absolutely loved it and would always show up whenever we tried to play it. It's a game called werewolf, though I hear there are other names/variations of the game out there. So tonight we play werewolf and we hope that Buddy will show up. You too can join us and play it too with your friends, who knows - Buddy MIGHT show up with you.

Here's what you need:
7 or more players
7 or more index cards (equal to the number of players)
1 of these cards must be labelled SEER
2 of these cards must be labelled WEREWOLF
the rest of these cards must be labelled VILLAGER (though you can have one as moderator)
1 moderator

Here's how you play:
The game has 2 phases, night and day.

Night -
Moderator informs everyone to close their eyes, then informs the werewolves to open theirs. The moderator then informs the werewolves to silently pick a victim (they must agree on one villager). The moderator then informs the werewolves to close their eyes and for the seer to open his eyes. He/she asks the seer who he or she thinks is a werewolf, the seer quietly points at a person and the moderator responds with a thumbs up or down (up for werewolf) then informs the seer to close their eyes. The moderator now informs everyone to open their eyes, it is now daytime.

Daytime-
The moderator informs the group who has been slain the previous night (that person can no longer speak or participate and turns their card face up so everyone can read it). The group then discusses who they think is a werewolf and must decide who to lynch. The seer can interject at anytime, but must be careful as the werewolves may find out who the seer is and kill them next. The person who is lynched turns their card face up to reveal whether or not they are a villager, werewolf, or seer.

They then return to night and continue this rotation until one of the following conditions is met:
Both werewolves are dead (villagers win)
there is an equal number or greater werewolves to villagers at the end of the day (werewolves win)

The weird message

Ok so call me fool-hearted, I like to try to figure this stuff out before I get help. Stubborn maybe?

Anyway I've tried a few different methods. I thought it was a word for word cipher thing, maybe like a vigenere or something. No luck. I'm not too familiar with various languages (though it doesn't look like anything I've ever seen before). It came from someone other than the APWA too which is even more nerve wracking. Someone trying to help I hope!

Slight update from Texas: Our team found evidence that Buddy was in Houston some time before the Atlanta fiasco. We're looking for more evidence which may help put together some of the pieces into how the APWA is involved in this situation (maybe we can discover how he's traveling around the world).

Means of transportation

We've discovered just how weird this organization who is helping Buddy out is. We're not quite sure who is "weirder" them or the animals they claim to protect. We reported earlier that Buddy was sighted in Melbourne. Eggnog, who saw Buddy at the White House, apparently called up a friend from Australia who discovered how the APWA was trying to smuggle Buddy while he was on safari.

I was going through my friend's pictures from his Australian safari, and I noticed this picture of Buddy hitching a ride. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what exactly is this art project that you need Buddy for?

The art project you're inquiring about is about life itself and how strange it can be. The focus was originally on the way an ugly caterpillar transforms itself into a beautiful butterfly, but it quickly evolved into scientific discovery about a number of creatures the world was hesitant to believe existed. It's something that's more important to us than it is to the world at large. Buddy's a great puppy and his friends here miss him.

We've got another message too, I'm going to work it a bit and see if I can figure it out - if not I'll get your help again guys. In the meantime - keep a look out for Buddy (maybe we should nickname him Joey).

A world traveller

Now I'm really starting to get upset and worried all at the same time. This group, the alliance for the protection of weird animals, told us in a letter that they were going to help get Buddy out of the U.S. and today we've received proof that Buddy has done just that.

Our Orlando team verified that Buddy left Orlando heading towards Texas but somewhere around Atlanta he was confronted by a weird robot and squirted in the face with its water gun. Witnesses confirmed the account with our team and mentioned that he had gotten into a black panel van. From there we lost track of our little puppy until we got this email:

I saw a lost puppy at the Federation Bells in Melbourne, Australia. I
think that he looks a lot like Buddy. What do you think?

Melbourne, Australia... wow Buddy you've really reached out in the world now. Australia's a much smaller continent, so we may be able to catch up to him soon if the APWA doesn't interfere any further. Those of you in the APWA who are foolishly trying to keep Buddy away from us, please understand that you're causing more harm than good. Buddy is family for us and keeping him away from his family is only going to push him closer to becoming wild.

Findings

Our Orlando team has reported back just this morning that they have further narrowed down the area we expect Buddy to be heading. The report suggests he should be somewhere in Texas today between San Antonio and Houston, with a chance for Dallas. If you know anyone in these areas, please pass the word to them to be on the look out for Buddy and that we would appreciate any and all pictures they send our way.

In the meantime, someone decoded the letter we were sent. Apparently there is a group out there called the Alliance for the Protection of Weird Animals. With a name like that I would imagine the animals might would need protection from them. It looked like it had some French in there too, but I don't know a lick a French so I guess that was covered in what was decoded for us.

I'm not exactly sure what the heck APWA is, but I want everyone to know one thing about Buddy. Buddy is not a monster, he is a sweet, caring, loving creature who we really care about. We want Buddy home so we can protect him from people who say he is a monster, and of course so we can finish our work for our art project. Thanks to everyone that's helping us try to find him. Our Orlando team has reported that he appears to be heading West, but they're unable to determine exactly where. So, if you know anybody who lives west of Orlando (I'm sure you do) please tell them to be on the lookout.

A cryptic message and some more pictures

We got a weird cryptic message in the e-mail today. I'm going to try to decipher it and if I can't I'll post it up here to see if we can get some help.

We, also, got an e-mail from Derek with two pictures of Buddy. We had trouble distinguishing where buddy was when we looked at the first image, it's kind of like a where's Waldo, but great job finding him Derek. We've dispatched a team to Disney World to see if we can't get back on his trail. The Secret Service was uncooperative in our search near the White House (even after we re-assured them he would not harm the President - we think they wanted him to eat the 3 candidates though).

Wow, Your puppy gets around fast! I was just vacationing around Disney World as my exams were all done and who did I happen to see but Buddy running lose throughout the Magic Kingdom. He was much too quick to try to catch but I did take a few photos. And you're right he sure does like crowds of people!

Due to the sensitive nature of the location, we have yet to dispatch our team to capture re-acquire him. We are, however, in talks with the Secret Service to see if they know of his whereabouts. We will keep you updated, but in the meantime - if you see him somewhere else let us know!

One night into it

Buddy did not come home last night, we even tried playing his favorite game, but to no avail. Buddy's such a precious little guy and we can't stand that he's missing. We did receive one e-mail from a small town newspaper editor outside of Birmingham, Alabama. He found our blog and mentioned that he saw a shadow that he thought might have been Buddy.

A SHADOW? Buddy is more than a shadow, he's ... he's... he's our little buddy!

Please someone help us find Buddy - have you seen him???

I'm nearly in tears as I write this post on my way to laying my head down for bed. Buddy, we miss you. We love you Buddy. We know you're out there, I thought I heard you howling earlier.

Please be safe Buddy and stay away from the innocent villagers please Buddy.

Ok, bed time story:

Once upon a time there lived three little innocent villagers. Each was told by a seer that they would soon be visited by a hairy devil under a full lit moon. They scrambled around trying to find protection from this hairy devil.

Orgid, the first villager, had the idea they should build a house to protect themselves from it. They started with a brick foundation, but Borgis and Horgid both got a little too anxious. Borgis decided he would make a house out of wood, while Horgid started building a house out of straw.

Horgid finished his house just as the hairy devil approached. Borgis scrambled to finish his home, fearing that the devil would soon turn to him, but the devil stopped at Horgid's house and laughed. It jumped through the straw house and ate Horgid all up.

(stop me if you've heard this one before)

Then as Borgis finished his house, the devil approached it. It looked around the house, lifted it's leg and marked his territory... sniffed some more and pounced through the house. Borgis pleaded for his life, but the hairy devil ate him all up.

Then the Hairy devil made it's way up to Orgid's house. It walked around the brick walls contemplating the structure it now confronted. It looked and saw the sun was starting to rise in the East... then with all of its might, it jumped over the unfinished wall and laid down in his bed.

We lost our puppy

A group of us have been working on an art project recently. In an effort to understand more fully what we were getting into, we scoured the world to find some very unique puppies. Unfortunately today one of our puppies escaped or was stolen or abducted or imploded, we're not really certain.

We're trying to get some help finding him, his name is Buddy and we already miss him very very much. He's very unique and again we stress quite rare. Please, please help us find him. We don't know where he is and we need all of the help we can get.



We do have a few points of interest to add though, Buddy's a tough rascal to catch and he's extremely fast. He's typically very friendly, but we recommend not trying to capture him yourself. If you see him, can you please take a picture of him and e-mail it to ourlostpuppy(at)gmail.com ? Let us know where you saw him and took the picture, we'll dispatch a team of puppy catchers to try and bring him back home.
